Made from extra strong PVC coated fabric, our water and stain resistant bags will survive any environment you place them in. With double stitched seams and a sealed entry system, these rugged bags have been built to last. Beachbum is the brainchild of British windsurfer James Savage, FLOW catches up with him to find out more about the history behind the product:

watching the actionWhere did the idea for Beachbum come from?

At the end of 2009 I went to South America for an extended 3 month windsurfing trip with some friends! Whilst out in Brazil I came across giant outdoor beanbags, where myself and the guys spent many a day relaxing on them by the pool or in the evening with a drink. Beachbum has been inspired by these and my South American experiences, as well as the windsurfing / surfing lifestyle. We wanted to make relaxing anywhere just that little bit more stylish! We have already taken our bean bags to the Student Windsurfing Nationals in Southampton where they survived both the harsh English weather that weekend as well as the 5 student pile-on!

Why does a windsurfing lady need a Beachbum?

Beachbum’s are the most stylish and comfortable way to relax on the beach whilst you wait for the wind, or for a chill out afterwards. They are perfect for the back of vans, but they also look great in your garden or in the corner of your living room!

Any plans for new products in the near future?

At the moment we’ve just been focused on getting our outdoor bean bags produced to the high standards that we require. We’re really happy with the product we now have and can’t wait to get them out into the world this summer! It’s an ideal time of year for them and the great thing is you can use them anywhere! We do have quite an exciting product that we are working on to add to the Beachbum family however we’re keeping our lips sealed on this one so you’ll just have to wait on see!
