Flow Rider: Tanya Saleh
Name:
Tanya Saleh
DOB:
19/09/1984
Occupation:
Value Stream Manager.....making parts for aeroplane engines when not at the beach.
Watersports:
Windsurfing - can't survive without wavesailing. Used to compete in UKWA wave events until I moved to San Diego and now partaking in AWT (American Windsurfing Tour) events when time allows. Not so much wind in Southern California so...
Surfing - plenty of waves (with no wind) in San Diego, so I learnt how to surf and have fallen in love all over again.
Wakeboarding - Not often near flat water but love it when I am. Can jump the wake and 180 so very minor skills!
Kite - This word is not in my vocabulary
SUP - Beginner. I hate trying to get that giant board plus paddle out through big waves, but can do just fine in little waves.
Sail - Really good at capsizing hobies. Can sail a laser no probs.

Tanya is your go to girl for advice on:
Anything to do with wavesailing or surfing.
Traveling to locations with waves, and generally far far away places

About Tanya:
Whilst I start windsurfing 9 years ago I didn't get into waves until about 4 years ago. Since that the majority of my spare time is spent in search of the idilic uncrowded never-ending wave. I love organising trips with friends to new places - preferably places far away from the crowds, and then coming home and sharing that experience with the rest of the windsurfing world.
Aside from help from JP and Neil Pryde my windsurfing habit is funded by my work in the Aerospace industry. I am lucky enough that this has brought me to San Diego for the past 3 years but unfortunately at the expense of windsurfing since there is no wind out here! Nevertheless I've been doing what I can and recently won the AWT round 3 wavesailing event in Baja. Due to the lack of wind I will be moving back to the UK soon and will be getting involved in the www.britishwavesailingassociation.com circuit once again.
