BWA Tiree
The 3rd and 4th installments of the British Wavesailing Association tour are quickly approaching, first up is the 25th anniversary event on the isle of Tiree.
A magical island, with a whole host of possible locations Tiree always delivers and is sure to be a week to remember.
If you are yet to compete in a BWA event, but are tempted by a trip to Tiree with a fantastic group of windsurfers this is the ideal opportunity.
As we are always keen to promote on FLOW, you do not need to be a pro, or even looping to hit up the competition scene. Possessing a passion for the sport, some wave experience and the enthusiasm for a heat is more than enough.
The BWA has a fantastic page brimming full of information for all those rookies out there, even a section especially for the Rookie Chicks...
The women’s category is probably the most informal and relaxed at the event. Attracting somewhere between 4 and 8 competitors the tiny size of the fleet means that the format is finalized at the last minute. Where it slots into the rest of the event is normally fairly flexible and negotiated between the girls and the judges depending on the conditions, how we are all feeling and even childcare considerations!
